A. Brady, AIA, REFP
Please
welcome Mr. James Brady, AIA, REFP as the Executive Director
of America's Schoolhouse Council. Mr. Brady's vision, enthusiasm
and dedication to excellence in planning our nation's schools
parallel those of America's Schoolhouse Council.
Mr.
Brady has had a distinguished career encompassing many aspects
of education including experience as an educator, planner
and architect. He has provided assistance to hundreds of school
districts with varied cultural, location and size, and instructional
issues. His professional experience in education has been
centered on:
· Collaborative models for the successful development
of strategic and facilities plans
· The development of educational specifications focused
on teaching and learning strategies
· Leadership development
Having
taught at a community college, worked as a school district
staff architect and planner, provided leadership training
for school board members, and planned technologically advanced
learning environments which are student-focused, Mr. Brady
has shown his dedication, throughout his career, to the integration
of architecture and education.
As
a nationally recognized authority in Educational Facilities
Planning, he was honored by The Council of Educational Facility
Planners (CEFPI) and named the 2003 CEFPI Planner of the Year.
As a planner and architect with PageSoutherlandPage, Mr. Brady
worked with clients across the country and overseas and recently
worked on the award winning Academy of Irving ISD, where he
assisted in developing an educational specification and architectural
program that would meet the instructional needs of the school.
The Academy of Irving ISD has won awards for planning, innovation,
construction, design, and educational appropriateness.
